Council to Castle - DERBY'S FIRST RIDE

This will be the first ride of many from the Breeze network Derby. Women of ALL ABILITIES are welcome to join us, the ride is suitable for all types of roadworthy bikes. The PACE will be LEISURELY. We will leave the new Council offices in Derby city centre (toilets are available) via the Riverside cycle path, then continue along paths and trails to our destination, Elvaston Castle where a tea-stop will be enjoyed with the option of their delicious scones! Our return journey will continue to be mainly traffic free, but will include a short road section to reach the Council House in time for lunch. It’s a good idea to bring some water, snack to keep you going and money for if we stop at a cafe. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.
