Couch to 100km in 10 Weeks - week 5

Welcome to week 5 of the Swindon Lets Ride group Couch to 100km challenge 2025.

This week sees us build on last weeks achievement, where we can put into practice what we learnt. We will set of from the Moredon Sports Hub at 09:00hrs, using the cycle path network to take us up into Ridgeway Farm. We will then cycle out to Cricklade using the B4553 and the ‘closed road’, and we will enter the Cotswold Water Park area north of Cricklade. After going through Fairford, we will reach our cafe stop this week at the Magic Beans Cafe near Fairford, where we have a group reservation for 10:30hrs.

Our return route to the Moredon Sports Hub via Cricklade . The whole route is 34 miles (57km) and pretty flat on quieter traffic roads and cycle paths. We will cycle as a group, encouraging each other to achieve our goals.

Please bring a bottle for your bike with your favourite thirst quencher and snacks to keep you going. For all your rides we recommend that you bring a spare inner tube that is suitable for your bike, plus a pump. If your wheels are bolted on, then please bring a spanner that fits your bike’s wheel nuts. You should dress appropriately for the weather and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or a debit card for the cafe. Some places only accept card payments these days.

We do welcome anyone to join us and ride with us, whether this is your first time or someone who has participated on previous rides. We will never leave anyone behind.
