Cossington Cruise

Join Lindsey and Linda for a fantastic leisurely paced Sunday morning Breeze ride from Watermead Park in Thurmaston to the lovely village of Cossington. We will set off from the Woolly Mammoth car park at Watermead Park and cycle alongside the River Soar and Grand Union Canal, over Birstall Lock Bridge and around the breathtaking King Lear and John Merrick Lakes.  Our route will then take us over the fabulous newly installed Wreake Bridge and on to Cossington Village.  On our arrival at Cossington, we will head for a local garden centre cafe where we can enjoy a well-deserved hot drink (and optional cake, of course!). This will be a great bike ride for beginners, for anyone returning to cycling and for those just wishing to enjoy a sociable Sunday saunter. The route will be mainly off road with just two small sections of roads to cross. We recommend helmets for adults, but they’re not compulsory. Don’t worry if you don’t have a helmet – why not try a couple of rides and see how you get on? As the weather can be changeable at this time of the year it is wise to wear layers and don't forget your waterproof just in case.
