Starting point

BN1 2LN

Bucket and Spade cafe, 26 to 28 Kings Road, Brighton BN1 2LN

This is a short and flat ride along the seafront cycle paths and quiet roads. It is ideal for those getting back on a bike after a break, just starting out cycling in a group, or building up confidence riding on the roads. We will meet at the Bucket and Spade cafe by the side of the children's playground and paddling pool just along from the Peace Statue (note that you can not cycle along the seafront there, as the cycle path is up on the promenade next to the road). From there we will take our bikes to the cycle path and head west, passing Hove Lawns, the King Alfred sports centre, and Hove Lagoon. We will then join Basin Road to take us along the seafront to Carat's cafe. After a cuppa and chance to chat in Carat's cafe, we will head back again the way we came. The pace will be leisurely and there will be three trained ride leaders with the group. No-one will get left behind and we will be encouraging and supportive for women who have not cycled a lot recently. Please check your bike before coming out: Are the tyres fully inflated? Is the chain oiled? Do both brakes work? You will easily be able to identify your ride leaders Alison, Zoe, and Sonja - we will be wearing red jackets with the British Cycling Breeze logo on them. If you have any questions about the ride, contact the main ride leader Alison on 07967 094967
