This ride is for us to enjoy a pretty spring garden called Compton Elms, in Pinkneys Green, which is opening exclusively for our group on the morning of Wednesday 6th April. Drinks and Cake are included in the entry fee of £10 per head, which is for the National Garden Scheme Charity. (pay on the day). With at least 4 Champs available, we will travel in small groups, but have the chance to chat with everyone at the garden, so a very sociable ride.
Many enjoyable country lanes with just a few short main road sections as necessary to connect. We head out via Shurlock Row to White Waltham and to Pinkneys Green, and after our garden visit will return via Littlewick Green and Waltham St Lawrence.
From Cantley car park, the ride is 28 miles, but barely any hills to worry about. For those who may prefer a shorter ride of 18 miles, we could meet up with you by the pond in Shurlock Row, and deliver you back there on our return route. (let me know if you prefer that option). With several Champs available on the date, we hope that all those who want to come are able to book a place.
Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please check your bike the night before, chain oiled, tyres fully inflated (makes it easier!), and always carry a spare inner tube suitable for your tyre size. With Covid in mind, if you feel unwell, please cancel your place. Please also bring £10 CASH for your entry fee.
