Starting from - Starting at a small car park next to the village hall. There is a 1.85 metre height restriction barrier, so roof carrying vehicles will need to park on a nearby side street (Kinoulton Road).
Easiest entry, avoiding village streets, with carpark/ village hall on left, is via A46 South, one junction down from Bingham junction/ roundabout. Avoid Crppwell Butler . (Or reverse going North). If you do go through the village, the car park is as you leave on the right.
No toilets here, so use services/ supermarkets facilities on way.
Meeting for 10am please.
You need a roadworthy bike, a spare inner tube and a drink. No helmet, no ride.
We will do a bike check before the off.
I look forward to greeting you for a friendly pedal. Fingers crossed for decent weather!
THE RIDE IS PUT ON FOR ADULTS 16+, thank you. NG12 3BA

Picturesque pedal along a well surfaced canal path, from Cropwell Bishop, to Hickling basin. This is a lovely place as stop point, a waterside cafe with covered outdoor seating (about halfway). The route then follows the towpath to " impossible bridge" (near Hose), to the join a minor road out to the village of Colston Bassett (past the Stilton creamery) for a few miles so we can join the canal path again, back up the first section to the start point. Mostly flat, with a couple of uppy bits ( but not hills really). We will regroup along the way.
This route suits riders who are able to/ working up to, this distance, and who have confidence in light traffic.
