Cole Green Way from Hertford

A lovely route, mainly off road. We will go at a gentle pace. The Cole Green Way is traffic free and a great place to have a chat and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We will leave the Cole Green Way to follow parallel country lane and then rejoin near it's end and follow it back to Hertford. We will then stop for a hot drink and cake at Hertford Coffee Lab.

A casual ride for beginners, mostly off road on good surface. Along the Cole Green Way and the quiet country lanes around it. Beautiful tree lined route along disused railway line. Meet outside the Millstream pub and head out of Hertford avoiding the town centre traffic. Ride along the Cole Green Way. The surface is good but some puddles and smoother patches mean it is not suitable for road bikes. We turn off the disused railway lane to wind through some quiet country lanes. We rejoin the Cole Green Way near the A414 and follow it back all the way to Hertford.

This is a short ride (14km/9miles) so the coffee stop will be at the end of the ride in Hertford town. We can stop at anytime enroute if riders need a break. 

Please wear a helmet. Please bring equipment to fix a puncture or have someone to contact to pick you up. Please wear layers to stay warm and dry. If it is overcast, a back light is advisable.
