We will meet at Cockenzie Harbour and cycle along the Waggonway and Heugh path until we reach Tranent. We will then follow quiet roads and join the Railway path to Glenkinchie. Please note the last part of this path is through woods with uneven terrain.

The Railway path is a hard packed surface, it does however get muddy on occasion, depending on weather, it is suitable for Mountain bikes,Gravel bikes and Hybrids. We will however be riding on B roads as well. This ride is a mixture of shared paths, railway paths and roads

We will stop for refreshments at the wonderful Glenkinchie Distillery to visit their Christmas Festivities Event with 20% off all their products on the day. There will also be other vendors displaying their produce.

After enjoying the festivities we will return to Cockenzie.

This is a steady gentle uphill route with a mixture of shared paths, railway walks and roads. If your not sure if your bike is suitable send me a message and we can have a chat.

Helmets must fit and be worn correctly, lights are advised, clothing be bright and be seen! Please wear clothes appropriate for the weather, bring a drink, a spare inner tube, and a pump and the means to get home if your bike breaks down (taxi / friend etc). We never leave anyone behind.

Time allocated is always approximate as it depends on several factors ie weather, any breakdowns, accidents or delays.
