This is a hilly road ride with 2800 ft of climbing, but, don’t forget, there are rewards which are great descents, lovely villages and views

From the start we head out towards Bolton By Bowland via Chatburn and Sawley, then on to Swinden via Halton West and Halton Bridge after which we turn towards Barnoldswick at Newsholme, going through Horton and Bracewell then Barnoldswick itself for the main stop at a café. We need to be there by 1400 at the latest to get something to eat. I would highly recommend bring something with you though.
From the stop, we backtrack a little to leave Barnoldswick to head towards Downham via Kirk Clough and Ings End. From Downham we carry on through Radbrook and Worston before crossing the A59 to get back into Clitheroe.

The nearest decent toilets at Booths which will stop at on the way out.
