This is repeat of our July Westminster ride, back by popular demand.
This is a scenic 14 mile loop to remind us how beautiful London is!
We will start from Clapham Common Bandstand, on the café side.
Enjoy a lovely cycling tour over the Thames and Westminster Bridge with views of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Brompton Cemetery along the way. We will ride a comfortable steady pace along quietways towards and over Westminster Bridge, stopping for mandatory photos as needed! We'll pass by Parliament Square and around the Horse Guard Parade before working our wall down the Mall for a view of Buckingham Palace. From there, on to Hyde Park and Brompton Cemetery. Home will be via Battersea Bridge, finishing up at Clapham Common.
This ride will be a combination of quietways, dedicated bicycle lanes and a few busier streets.
We can stop to admire scenery, statues and photos along the way. There is a café in Brompton Cemetery that we can use for a loo break, and we mustn’t forget to look for Emily Pankhurst’s gravesite! Well will finish our ride at the café in Clapham Common.
Riders should bring plenty of water, a helmet, and appropriate footwear. You may also want a lock for the café stop at the end.
This is a fairly flat ride, but there is a little traffic in a few areas as we transition from parks to quietways and such. Otherwise a nice easy ride. And no one will be left behind!
