Depending on the time of year you can see bluebells, rhododendron & other flowers in full bloom. Rabbits & squirrels are everywhere. We start in Cuerden Valley Park riding past the lake & through four different woods to Whittle Le Woods then drop down to MaltHouse Farm where we can sit by the canal & enjoy a coffee. From there we visit the beautiful village of Wheelton where we can enjoy a cup of tea & a slice of cake while admiring the clock tower. Then up towards Dehham & Simpson's Woods and back along the canal to Top Locks, a chance to see working canal locks. Over High Cop, admiring the magnificent views before stopping in Brindle. We can admire, and have a coffee, in the listed building of the Cavendish Arms across from the Brindle Parish Church. We'll work our way down to Thorpe Green & on to the new village of Clayton Brook. We'll go through Green Wood & back into Cuerden Valley park to take a different path back to our starting place. There are a couple of short hills & we will take these at a slow, steady pace. This is a great ride around some of Chorley's finest attractions. It's ideal for people & families who want to stretch their legs a little. We guarantee there will be something new for everyone. This is a chance for us to get out our mountain bikes or hybrids on mixed terrain. We'll ride at a steady pace of 11-12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together & have a really pleasant ride. We can all do the lump at our own pace & we'll reform at the top. It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
