Starting from - Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU at 6 p.m. on Thursday 7th July.
Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sunday.
A slightly longer route than previous evening rides, but to compensate is very flat.

The route is anti-clockwise through Astley Village, along Euxton Lane to Euxton, Runshaw and Runshaw Hall Lane passing through Worden Park into Leyland. From Leyland the route accesses country roads to Midge Hall, Longton, Walmer Bridge and Much Hoole to Croston. Return is via NCN 91 to rejoin Runshaw lane before turning off down Pear Tree Lane back to Astley Park. An overall flat route.
Total distance is 27 miles. A shorter 25 mile route is available.

A largely quiet and flat ride out into the countryside around Longton

Mainly quiet roads and lanes with some urban back roads

Helmets are always advisable but NOT compulsory. Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Emergency or daytime running lights are a good idea for evening rides, though we should be back well before dusk. * We recommend all participants carry emergency contact details about their person.*
