Astley Park, Chorley

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

This ride is part of the Picnic in the Park event with Rock FM. The ride is a figure of eight ride using quiet roads and a short offroad section of cycle path to explore the newly developed Buckshaw Village that was once a Royal Ordanance site and using well maintained cycle paths around Astley Park. We encourage all participants to come along early or stay after the ride to enjoy the Picnic in the Park, which is taking place from 11am until 5pm and will feature Rock FM's family stage show and plenty of activities for all the family. This route will be suitable for most types of bikes but not skinny tyred road bikes.

Further details of the event can be found by visiting Chorley Council website.
