This is a challenging ride from Chew Valley Lake up onto the Mendips at Stockhill Woods, near to the TV mast above Wells. The route follows country lanes and B roads. There is a challenging ascent and riders will also need to be confident about the descent back to Chew Valley Lake. There will be a stop along the route, so bring some money for refreshments, and as the ride rises to the top of the Mendips, it could be damp or cold, so please dress accordingly. A spare inner tube will be useful in the event of a puncture. The route follows remote countryside and provides beautiful views of the Mendips and Chew Valley (mist prevailing!)
