Checkendon to Watlington and Pyton

It’s peak time to catch the amazing display of naturalised daffodils at Pyrton Church yard. We start from Checkendon car park, opposite the church, and drop down steeply to Ipsden. Lots of miles of flat cycling follows, as we pass through several “Mid Sommer murder” Chiltern villages. Refreshments after 12 miles at Spire and Spoke cyclist cafe, Watlington, before our visit to the churchyard. Returning via Chalgrove and Berrick Salome, we start our climb back up gradually from Ewelme, before our more difficult climb of the day up Nufflield Hill. (But its a two step hill, and never a race!) Then all downhill to the finish line!

Cycle helmets are compulsory. Please check your bike the night before, chain oiled, tyres fully inflated (makes it easier!), and always carry a spare inner tube suitable for your tyre size. And preferable two! And a pump which you know fits your valve.
