At the bridge from the Cannon Hill Park to M.A.C.

This is a short 'In Extremis' ride to keep up the Winter legs with an alternative route over Rowney Green. Out of the park at the gate on Russell Road , the route begins with the steady climb to Kings Heath Park and out of the city through Walkers Heath and travelling swiftly along Wast Hills Road. Our usual direction is left towards Icknield Street(the Roman Road) but today a right to head to Hopwood and along the Worcester and Birmngham canal to Alvechurch. and the different approach to the Rowney Green climb. The lowest point at Storrage lane and the gradual rolling roads will lead you steadily to the top of Weatheroak Hill and the highest point at Forhill. Not quite finished, the fast run through Allens Croft may mislead you as beware the last two (or is it three kicks) before the run back down Russell Road. breakfast at the park café should end a steady, enjoyable morning. Enjoy! The GPX could not be loaded at the time of creating this ride but if you check out our Facebook page or message Stephen Brown through these pages , it will be forwarded to you. Our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/groups/cannonhillinextremis/ A final note, please do not try these rides if you have not been riding 30 mile rides recently and/or been commuting. Both Sky and British Cycling describe our rides as tough or challenging usually. Bring food and liquid!
