Starting point

AL10 0JL

White Lion Square, Hatfield

We head north west across rural Symondshyde to the iron age hill fort near Wheathampstead and then down the hill to the ford over the Lea. A short section of the Ayot Greenway takes us to Charlie’s cafe for lunch. Retracing our route via the ford we leave town via the Devil’s Dyke and the Heartwood Forest. We then take to the bridleway from Sandridge to Jersey Farm and then on to Oaklands College. We then end the ride along the Alban Way into Hatfield going past the wonderfully enhanced Nasy Hyde Halt.
