Scarborough Arms Public House car park, Tickhill, Doncaster

Another of our rides which feature as part of Get Doncaster Cycling 2015, we will be meeting at the Scarborough Arms car park at Tickhill at 10.00am with a view to departing by no later than 10.30am. At the conclusion of the ride it would be polite to pay a visit to the bar to purchase a drink by way of a thank you for use of their car park (or if you feel inclined you can always have dinner too). Departing then at 10.15 we'll be heading out of Tickhill by the side of the Castle ad the Water Mill heading out on Lindrick Lane until we eet the A60, which will cross and enter onto our first off road stretch of the ride on Crooked Lane Head (which shouldn't be particularly muddy unless we have a few days of heavy rain before the ride), This takes us onto the quiet Blyth Gate Lane which takes us up to Sandbeck Lane. We'll follow this as it skirts around Sandbeck estate before, eventually, bringing us onto Tickhill Road (A631). After a short encounter with this we'll turn off onto the much quieter road to Stainton which we'll follow until, ultimately, we'll find ourselves at our cafe stop in Braithwell, the Garden Room (excellent cafe). Suitably refreshed and rested we're going to leave Braithwell heading towards the quarry before veering off along another off road track (officially it's a Byway) as we head in a roundabout way onto Rakes Lane via a few quiet lanes. Following Rakes Lane we eventually will exit into Wadworth Wood (more off roading) for a short while tracking through to Wadworth before we return to Tickhill down Wilsic Road. Make sure you wear your helmet (this is compulsory, if you have no helmet you wont be able to ride with us) and appropriate clothing for the weather (if you have any bright or hi-viz then wear that). As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks; you should also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump, and tools to enable you to change a tube if necessary. Dont forget too to bring money for refreshments and a mobile 'phone. DISCLAIMER:- This is a purely social group of like minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure.
