Route Description
Once we set off from Rosewell, we’ll head toward Carrington through a mix of peaceful countryside roads. The route features a few loops to take in more scenery, with mostly smooth roads and a couple of rougher patches that add a little character to our journey. We’ll wrap up back at The Steading Café for coffee, a friendly chat, and a warm-up before heading home.

About the Route Join us for a 9.8-mile countryside jaunt from Rosewell to Carrington and back! This route includes around 681 feet of climbing, offering a mix of gentle hills and scenic backroads. We’ll end our ride at The Steading Café on Carnethie Street in Rosewell, where you can relax with a coffee and chat with fellow riders.

Most of our ride will be on quiet roads with a couple of rougher sections, perfect for road bikes as long as you watch for some potholes.There will be some gently hills.

What to Bring Bike in good working condition: Especially helpful for those rougher road sections. Helmet: Recommended for safety. Spare inner tube/puncture repair kit: Or a plan to get home in case of a puncture. Bike lock: For securing your bike during the café stop. Layers and a waterproof jacket: Dress in warm layers and bring a waterproof jacket in case of rain. Water bottle and snacks: Keep hydrated and energized. Cash or card: For any café purchases.
