Starting point

Lancashire
PR3 0RE

Most of the route is on National Routes 6, 90, The Way of the Roses and the Bay Cycleway. As such it is mostly a road ride with some cycle paths and a length of the Lancaster canal path, to avoid the A6 back to Lancaster.
The ride include several memorable and interesting places, including Crook O'Lune, Carnforth Station Buffet, Morecambe Bay and the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Lune Millennium Bridge in Lancaster. The Morecambe Kite Festival (Catch the Wind) should be in full flow along Morecambe Promenade, https://www.visitlancashire.com/whats-on/catch-the-wind-kite-festival-p771350.
The apex of the ride is the Carnforth Station Buffet, home of Brief Encounter. We can visit this, but unfortunately the buffet now only serves full lunches on a Sunday and the attached Heritage centre is also closed on Sundays!
The route heads inevitably north, criss crossing the M6 to Scorton, Bay Horse, Quernmore and Caton, then Halton to Carnforth station buffet.
The return route is along the Morcambe promenade then Lancaster, Glasson Dock, Cockerham and Garstang before returning to Bilsborow.
Total distance is 58 miles.

A varied ride around North Lancashire to include a large number of special views and iconic sites.

A mixture of quiet roads and lanes, cycle paths, coastal paths, promenade and canal towpath. A section of flat A road on the return from Condor Green.

Lunch stop decided on the day with 5 possibilities. The first one at 22 miles is CASH ONLY. Other stops as required and to admire the views.

Helmets are always advisable, but NOT compulsory. Cash or card, preferably both, if you require lunch. Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Daytime running lights are also a good idea. *We also recommend all participants carry emergency contact details about their person*.

We never leave anyone behind
