Visitor Center and Cafe at Marquis Drive in Cannock Chase, Hednesford, Staffordshire, (NOT BIRCHES VALLEY). Meet at the metal green table. Free on road or paid car park. Various other free car parks close to start area.

Early start this week 9:30 am due to another event later in the day. Free public social ride. Starting at Marquis' Drive café (NOT BIRCHES VALLEY) we head along Marquis' Drive and down kit bag hill and across the rail and road crossings then up through the pine forests and through beau desert golf club on a bridleway. We then cross Rugeley road and carry on through the pine forests up to Castle Ring (an old iron age hill fort) This is the highest part of Cannock Chase and affords spectacular views of the Chase. We then start the return journey past horse pasture pools and stile cop and follow a road to-wards slitting mill and back onto the chase, past Fairoak pools and back to the start area. This ride will involve a few hill climbs and 300 yds of road. No one is left behind as we ride as a group. All off road so only bikes with off road tyres. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not worry as you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
