A gentle scenic ride around Cannock Chase Sherbrook Valley, stopping at places of local interest
Starting at Milford Common Car Park, taking the bridleway to the Sherbrook Valley Stepping Stones. From here it is a steady climb up the valley stopping at the German Military Cemetery, then onto Spring Slade Lodge for a tea stop. We will then set off along the top of the valley on the bridleway/minor road stopping at the Glacier Boulder and Freda's grave. From here it’s all downhill along the route of the old tackaroo railway line back to the start.

The route is mainly off road on a gravel/hard sand track, however after a wet spell this can become muddy/puddles in places and after long periods of dry weather loose.

Car parking at Milford Common is £1 for 3 hours or £2 for the rest of the day. Helmets must be worn and it is advisable to wear gloves. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and bring a drink and snack.
