Caerwent to Christchurch viewpoint

The ride heads out of Caerwent to Five Lanes and then on to St Brides valley. We ride into Magor and then out through Llandevenny to get to Bishton. Once through the village, we ride to join the main road to Langstone. Then we briefly ride along the cycle path down to the Catsash turning. From here, we start to take on a couple of big climbs. First, the lesser of the two as we go up to Catsash Road and then the big one that takes us to a high point around the back of the Celtic Manor. Finally, we follow the road to the end, across the junction and to Christchurch and the viewpoint.
After a short break, we head downhill to cross over Chepstow Road. Then we ride through Ringland, under Ringland Way and then a little climb into Llanwern. We go through the new estate and out to the other side of the village. Then it's back to Bishton before a loop round Redwick, and then Undy, Silurian Road and back to Five Lanes. Lastly, we go along the path back into Caerwent.

An undulating double loop route to an lovely viewpoint.

This is a road ride using quiet country lanes and some slightly busier roads.

We will stop at the cafe at the viewpoint for a snack.

Please wear a helmet and also bring along a lock and some money for the refreshment stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.
