C2C day 1

Mini-bus pick-up at the Cycle Hub at 8am.
Transport to Newbie Beach (Scotland).
Hope to be pedalling by 10:30am/11am.
Cycle 44 miles / 2600ft
There are limited facilities (cafes etc) once we're really in to the ride, so bring enough grub etc to keep you going (and be prepared to wild wee!).
Tarmac based - some unavoidable busy roads, but much on quiet lanes.
It's coast to coast, so expect some decent hills - some of which are towards the end of the day, so conserve some energy!
Pray for a westerly wind! haha...

Overnight stay at The Sill YHA. Self-catering facilities available, but I've booked a table for 12 at the Twice Brewed Inn, next door, at 6:30pm.
Breakfast can be booked at the YHA on arrival.
YHA ask for photo ID, so please bring your driving licence or similar. Bedding is provided, but towels aren't. Either bring one with you or you can hire one for a couple of quid.

Bike storage is in the bike shed - BRING A SECURE LOCK.
If you're riding e-bike with a non-removable battery, I've been informed that it can be charged in the out-house and then moved to the bike shed. Please arrange this yourself when we arrive.

Note: this trip is SELF-SUPPORTED - we don't have a support vehicle and will be carrying our own kit.
As with all Breeze stuff, this is NOT operated by paid staff from British Cycling. Arranged and led by volunteers! (Who have paid the same amount to do the trip, as well as organise it!)
