Bury - Wildlife and Wilderness - 5.1 Miler

This route, after descending from Philips Park,  explores a short section of the Irwell Valley where you meander along mostly excellent paths close by the River Irwell.  The river is often concealed by trees and foliage but is never too far away.  The many lakes and lodges all add to the beauty of the area which despite the industrial history of the area remains magnificently unspoiled.
