A flat, short, there-and-back ride to Burtonwood Heritage Museum. Almost completely off road, cycling through the beautiful Sankey Valley. A mix of canal towpath, shared paths and a little minor road. The museum is free, although donations are very welcome, and there is SO much to see, telling the story of the largest American air base in Europe. Unfortunately, there is no cafe or toilet - so we will have our brew stop at The Maltings pub (en route) prior to visiting the museum.
