(0) ReviewsLet’s go train spotting. A chance to perhaps see some steam trains in full flow.
Much of the route is the long surpassed Exeter to Plymouth road. Nowadays bypassed by the A38 the old road provides some excellent cycle routes. Having said that, the early part of the ride is on the brand new road through the developing Sherford estate. From there it’s Ivybridge, South Brent, Staverton and on to the Steam Railway station at Buckfastleigh. After a quick refreshment stop we return through the same towns but by a different route ending up where we started. As it’s a long ride we’ll aim to keep the pace above 10mph and complete the whole ride, including coffee stop, within the set 6 hours.
We’ll stop for a refreshment stop at the far end of our ride at the Buckfastleigh Strawberry Fields farm shop.
