This ride is suitable for all abilities. Apart from a short section of rough ground, the ride is on good Tarmac roads and suitable for all bikes. The ride leaves the parking area behind the Cross Keys Pub and heads down the road towards Eamont Bridge. We go over the footbridge and head towards Lowther Castle through Lowther Caravan Park . We will then head to Askham , Whale and Bampton Grange which is our furthest point. We will return through Helton back to Askham and retrace our route back to Brougham and Betty Anne's Tea Room for coffee and cake. We will always ride at a pace to suit everyone and no one will be left behind. The aim is to have a fun sociable ride,. Remember to wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for the days weather and it is advisable to wear a helmet. It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube and a drink and snack. We will stop for refreshment at the end of the ride so please bring some money if you wish to do this.
