Broompark Picnic Area

Starting from Broompark Picnic Area we will cycle along the Deerness Valley Railway Walk to Waterhouses, where, dependant on the weather we will take a coffee break and either return along the same route or climb further up the railway line towards Stanley Crook. At the top of the climb we will turn left onto the road and cycle up to the junction with Brancepeth back road where we will descend on a very quiet road through fields an trees to meet with the Bishop to Brandon route at Brancepeth. From there we will turn left and return to Broompark along this line. The shorter route will be around 16 miles and the longer 22 and will be dependant on the weather, but we'll be doing the longer one if at all possible. Suitable for children from 10+ As usual, please dress for the weather and make sure your bikes are roadworthy and that you have suitable hats, gloves and warm, waterproof clothing. Drinks, puncture repair and pumps are also useful if you have them and wet wipes and antihistamine have also proved a must on recent rides!! I look forward to blowing away those christmas cobwebs with you, and taking huge gulps of that nearly Spring air! It will be good to be out. We will be visiting the Morley Wood Pub at Brandon for a soup and sandwich lunch from @1pm. Please ensure you bring money along to cover these refreshments and thanks very much to them for fitting us in   Jacki 07795 390871
