Broompark Picnic Site

Sunday 28th August 2016 at 1pm 24 miles Broompark to Bishop Auckland Join us for a railway path bonanza from Broompark Picnic Area (DH7 7RJ), along the Brandon Bishop Railway path to Bishop Auckland where we’ll have refreshments and feel the buzz of Khynren! The ride is mainly on railway paths so will be largely traffic free without too many hills. We will pass through Meadowfield, Brandon, Willington, Hunwick before riding over the restored Newton Cap Viaduct to Bishop Auckland. We’ll return via the Auckland Way which will take us to Spennymoor from where we'll ride about 3 miles on road before rejoining our outward railway path route at Brancepeth. The railway paths are mainly a good surface so will be suitable for all bikes apart from very skinny road tyres. This is a good ride if you want to start to build up your confidence mileage wise while also enjoying some of Durham’s lovely countryside. Please come suitably dressed for the weather and make sure you’ve got a spare tube to fit your tyres. Expect to return to Broompark by about 5.30 -6pm. If you want any more information email me at [email protected] or leave a message on Our Breeze Network Durham Facebook page. Audrey
