New to cycling or just need a confidence boost? Then come and join us at the Brooksbank Cycle Circuit in Elland. The circuit is a 750 metre tarmac circuit and provides a high quality, traffic-free cycling environment. This free session is to give women the opportunity to build their confidence and to get on a bike in a safe environment. If you have not ridden for a while then come a long and we will help give you the confidence to get back on a bike. For others of you it might be to simply show you the social side of Breeze so might just involve riding the circuit and having a chat. You can do 1 lap or you can do 100, it is up to you, the female Breeze Champions will be there to give you useful tips and advice, we will even cycle around the track with you if you need us to. If anyone wants to go a little faster you are welcome to ride around at your own pace, it is your hour, feel free to use it to suit your needs (please note racing will not be permitted). If you have your own bike please bring this along, however if you don’t have access to a bike, Calderdale Council are providing a number of bikes for use, free of charge. Bikes do not need to be reserved in advance, simply book your place on the Breeze ride and turn up for the session. Places for the circuit Breeze rides are limited and owing to popularity must be booked in-advance. Optional extra: - at 1.00pm, Brooksbank are offering a one hour female coaching cycling session at the circuit with local level 2 qualified coach Lorna Dodd. The session is open to all ladies whether participating in the Breeze ride or not. If you partaking in the Breeze ride, at 1.00pm you can either join Lorna’s coaching or continue on the ride if you do not wish to take advantage of the coaching. The coached session will cater for ladies wanting extra advice to build confidence and improve riding skills. The Breeze ride is free of charge but £3 per participant will be charged for the coaching session (the session is optional). As the coaching is not managed and delivered by British Cycling you must book places separately from your Breeze booking by emailing: [email protected] (places will be available on a first come first serve basis). Please note the coaching session is female only but other users, including men, will be using the circuit from 1.15pm for the Sky Ride Local ride. After the Breeze ride a Sky Ride Local ride will take place on the circuit (1.15-2.15). This is open to all, Calderdale Council are again offering free bike hire.
