Roundabout at the junction of Oakbrook Road and Rustlings Road at the entrance to Whitely Woods (across from western end of Endcliffe Park)
This ride is primarily for British Cycling Ride Leaders and Champions, but friends and family and Wheel Do It! members are also welcome to join in.
The ride starts from the western end of Endcliffe Park and heads out along Fulwood Road and then via some winding lanes up to Ringinglow. From there we pass Stanage Edge and then swoop down via some more winding lanes to a coffee and cake stop in Hathersage. We'll then head back up the long steady climb to Higger Tor back to Ringinglow, returning to Endcliffe Park via some pleasant country roads. This route has a few steep hills as well as some long steady climbs. The moors above Ringinglow can be quite windy (if the weather is too bad we will do a much shorter 7.5 mile loop and return to Endcliffe Park for coffee/cake instead of pushing on to Hathersage). Anyone who wants to finish the ride in Hathersage has the option of taking the train back to Sheffield (we expect to be in Hathersage at around 12noon; trains are at 12.40, 14.40 and 16.40).
