Sainsburys, Cash Point machines, meet at 9.45 ready for a 10am start

This is an easy to steady paced ride along the towpaths along the Canal. Meeting outside Sainsburys ( by the cash machines ) at 9.45 for a 10.15 start. We will travel firstly to the Halifax Junction part of the canal before turning left and heading to Elland. After which we will continue on to Sowerby Bridge, we can then stop for a short drinks break. Then ride on through, Luddenfoot, Mytholmroyd & into Hebden Bridge for another short rest. After our stop we will ride on to Todmorden and our journeys end Walsden. By which time i'm sure everyone will be ready for lunch and a deserved rest, and a walk about to give the old buttocks a rest. We will then return to Brighouse via the same route. The total distance including the return journey is approx 38 miles. Though between Brighouse and Halifax is a smooth path, the rest of the way can get quite bumpy and muddy in parts, so off road bike would be more suited, but use of road tyres would be upto the individual. The ride is Family friendly, but all under 16's MUST BE accompanied by an appropriate adult and MUST also wear a cycle helmet. Though this ride will be catorgorised as Challenging, we don't race ahead, and no one is left behind. Though we usually meet in Huddersfield, on this occassion it will be easier for everyone to meet in Brighouse. Hope you can join us, and that you enjoy the ride and being part of a warm and friendly group. Kind regards, Jim
