We will leave Pedalling Squares and cycle along the track on the south side of the river which we will cross at Newburn bridge before travelling through Throckley and up the fell. We will then head towards Stamforham and on to Matfen, where we will stop at the village store/cafe for a snack. Return to Pedalling Squares is west towards Corbridge but turning off just short to Bywell. There is a possibility of a detour via Stocksfield if we are unable to access the low road near Bywell and over Evingham bridge onto the track on the north side of the Tyne. We will then cycle to Wyalm crossing the bridge and completing the final leg on the south side of the river.
This ride is partly off road and partly on quiet roads and is about 40 miles.
Please ensure your bike is in good working order and you are carrying spare inner tubes as it can be difficult to repair punctures should the weather turn wet.
