Pedalling Squares The Old Brassworks Quality Row Road Swalwell

We will be leaving Pedalling Squares at 9am sharp, and cycling along the banks of the Tyne to Newburn,After crossing Newburn Bridge we will cycle up through Throckley to the top of Throckley Fells and turn left. We then cycle to Bolam lake via Medburn and Black Heddon then through Scots Gap to Elsdon. Stop at the impromptu cafe Elsdon for a snack etc (maybe some gibbet cake for energy) Cycle up the challenging hill climb out of Elsdon, and returning to Pedalling Squares the same way. This beautiful cycle ride will be 68 miles and you need to be able to cycle this distance at a steady pace. (10-12 mph) Please note the challenging climb out of Elsdon. Your bike must be in good working order and you need to carry at least 2 spare inner tubes. That way if you get a puncture it will be easier and quicker to fix. You must arrive 15 minutes before the start as we will be leaving at 9am sharp so that we are not too late getting back. There is also an option for anyone who wants to do 100 miles in a day to then cycle on to the coast and back, but this is obviously dependent on our getting back to Pedalling Squares in time to do this
