Pedalling Squares The Old Brassworks Quality Row Swalwell

The route:- Leave Pedalling Squares and cycle on the Derwent Walk to Blackhill, Consett. Stop at the Hounsgill café for a snack etc. Return to Pedalling Squares following the No. 7 (C2c route) turning off at the metal cows to Beamish. There is a challenging climb out of Beamish. We then cycle to the Tanfield railway car park and along the track beside the railway line to Sunniside and then Whickham. This is a lovely countryside route and is 90% off road. The cycle ride is 35 miles and is suitable for any type of bike. There is no number restriction and this is a no drop ride. We aim to cycle at 10-12 miles per hour. Your cycle needs to be in good condition and you should carry two spare inner tubes with you as we do get punctures and it is quicker and easier for the group to just replace your inner tube.
