This cycle ride is about 35 miles, with a challenging climb through Lemington, then towards the airport, ending at Blagdon. This ride is different and interesting with a mixture of off road, country park and quiet roads to cycle.
We will leave Pedalling Squares and cross Scotswood Bridge, on the path. There is a challenging climb through lexington to Blucher, then through North Walbottle country park to the Wheatsheaf pub, near the airport, and on through Dinnington to Blagdon. The stop is at the Cheese Farm Cafe for Coffee, tea snack etc.
Return is via Saltwick, Kirkley, Portland, Throckley, Newburn and back along the river.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BIKE IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AND YOU ARE CARRYING SPARE INNER TUBES, FOR EASE SHOULD YOU GET A PUNCTURE. Please also try to be prepared for any weather conditions - don't forget it is January- expect the unexpected.
