Malin Bridge Park and Ride Holme Lane Malin Bridge Sheffield S6 4JR

If you want to stretch your climbing legs and get great views from the moors and over the reservoirs, this is the ride for you. We’ve been doing Breeze rides around Damflask for over a year now, and it seemed like time for a change and some new challenges. Although you can do this ride on any bike, it is best done on a road bike or hybrid (the hills are harder work on mountain bikes). The ride starts with a steady climb up Loxley Road before passing the Nag's Head and to the right of Damflask Reservoir and takes a left turn down to Low Bradfield. We then climb up a short hill and pass along the side of Agden Reservoir, before a fairly long and moderately steep climb which we’ll do in a low gear and at a steady pace. The road then takes us across the moors, swooping up and down, with two more steep but quite short climbs before we pass the Strines Inn (optional coffee stop). The ride back to the start is then relatively flat or downhill and the views get even more stunning. Although there is quite lot of climbing in this ride and a few challenging hills, we’ll take it steady and stop for breathers whenever we need to. If you need to walk up any of the steeper bits, that is fine – we won’t leave anyone behind. Parking is available in Malin Bridge Park and Ride at a cost of £1. If arriving by car, please be aware that there is a height restriction barrier - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IN TO THE CAR PARK WITH BIKES ON A ROOF RACK! Some on street parking is available on Holme Lane if you cannot use the car park. If cycling into the car park, do not ride under the raised entry barrier (cycle around it) as it may descend and hit you.
