Breezing to Roots

WE leave our start point and ride along the Guildwheel path as far as blackpool road. here we join the cycle paths alongside Edith Rigby way then join country roads for a short run to Roots .After our coffee stop we continue along Roots lane to benson lane and then head south towards Bartle Hall where we retrace our steps back to our starting point.

This is a steady ride around the quiet lanes north of Preston passing through small Hamlets and stopping halfway for coffee. All bikes are suitable for this terrain but must be in a road worthy condition.

We will be riding on shared cycle paths and quiet country roads. There are no major climbs on this route and we will aim to achieve an average speed of between 10 and 11mphl

We have a planned coffee stops at Roots and there will be plenty of opportunities to stop for a breather along the route if required.

Please bring some water, a snack and some money if you wish to purchase food or drink at the coffee stop. Be prepared for cold/ wet weather conditions. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet. Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair Prior to the start of the ride there will be a short bike check and safety brief but please make sure that your bike is in working order before joining the ride.

We are a small friendly group of women who enjoy a social ride around the scenic lanes in the area and a friendly chat over coffee. We love to welcome new members and we never leave anyone behind.
