Starting point

BS4 3DE

Meet outside Hillcrest Primary school on Cemetery Road between 9.20 and 9.30 ready for a 9.30 departure.

We will meet outside Hillcrest Primary school on Cemetery Road and have a quick bike check before heading through Arnos Vale cemetery and onto a bike path towards Temple Meads station. From there we take a short trip on the roads to the start of the Bristol to Bath bike path. We’ll ride for around six miles before retracing our steps (aka tyre marks). This is a chatting-pace ride on a mostly flat route (apart from the ride back up through Arnos Vale where getting off and pushing is totally acceptable!). The total length of the ride is around 12 miles. It is ideal for beginners or for more regular cyclists who want a sociable Friday morning ride. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. It’s a good idea to bring some water and a snack if you want to top up your energy levels along the way. Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. We’ll stop at one of the Wells Road cafes at the end of the ride so bring tea money and a lock if you want to stay for that. Children welcome if they are over 11 and are competent riding on roads (contact me if you have any questions). Children need to wear a helmet please. If you need to drive to the starting point there is on-road parking on the streets nearby. Any questions, please contact the ride leader: Emma Barraclough on [email protected] 07894 207310.
