Breezing the Avalon Marshes

We will cycle on multi-user paths through the picturesque Shapwick Heath Nature Reserve alongside waterways and lakes, where wildlife, especially water birds can usually be seen. We will then cycle along some country lanes before heading back to the Avalon Marshes Centre on the first section of multi user path beside the scenic waterways. The route is mostly flat, but there is a small hill, which can be walked if necessary.

We will cycle through the scenic Shapwick Heath nature reserve and along a few quiet country lanes

About two thirds of the route is traffic free, riding on unmade up multi-user paths. The rest of the route is on quiet country roads. Hybrid bikes/electric bikes are recommended on the multi-user paths.

We will stop for photo opportunity(s) and there is a cafe at the end of the ride, where refreshments and toilets are available.

Helmets, suitable clothing for the weather, water, spare inner tube, money if refreshments desired
