Starting from - The car park in front of Humberston Church / Gingerbread House . Parking is no longer available in the car park,( there's a 2 hour time restriction). However there is usually parking on Church Lane if you are driving to the start point.

We'll be setting off by going through Waltham . If you would like to meet us at Waltham as we go through , please message me and let me know . ( This will obviously make the ride a little shorter ) . We'll also be coming back through Waltham , so you'll be free to leave the ride wherever suits you best . DN36 4HZ

Starting at Humberston Church , we'll make our way to Waltham , and through Barnoldby Le Beck before turning off the Barton Street , and starting to climb into the Wolds . We'll go through Beelsby , and make our way to Swallow . Crossing over the A46 , we'll go over the "Limber Rollers " before reaching the village of Great Limber . We'll then make our way to the outskirts of Limber crossing over the A18 towards Brocklesby and carrying on ...on quiet roads towards Ulceby. This is at about the 20 mile point. After our refreshment stop we need to cross the A18 again but this time going up past the airport. This is a longish gentle climb. We'll turn left at the crossroads and carry on back towards Great Limber making our way home over the rollers and back to Humberston through Swallow, Beelsby, Barnoldby and Waltham.

Our refreshment stop will be at around the 19-20 mile mark so bring a drink and maybe a cereal bar / malt loaf or whatever you like to eat on a ride

It's a good idea to pump your tyres up the night before riding so that you can see if you have a slow puncture. Also make sure your Di2 or other electronic gearing system is well charged up and if you have an e bike that it's well charged up for those hills !!

I'm anticipating that the average speed for this ride will be around 12-14mph . Wolds hills are not particularly steep....but they are still hills and there's around 1900 feet of climbing in this ride according to my garmin( not sure if that's entirely accurate!)so expect to be challenged.

I have graded this ride as challenging because of the hills , but it'll be at a steady pace like my other rides . You'll be able to go uphill at your own pace , with a regroup at the top.

This time of year tends to be "gritting "season so although I have recced this route , newly gritted roads can spring up from nowhere it would seem , so there may be an occasion where I have to reroute at the last minute .

An undulating route via some hills on quiet Wolds roads

Roads are mainly quiet Wolds roads . Road bike or hybrid with slick tyres is suitable for this route through mainly quiet lanes in the Lincolnshire Wolds

Planning to stop at a new café in Ulceby ( Chums)

Helmets are advisable . Please bring a drink and a snack to eat on the way . A spare tube that fits your tyres , and an extra layer/ waterproof ( always a good idea whatever the forecast )
