Rides will be a mix of quiet country lanes, residential roads, and some busier sections. There will be moderate hills throughout. We always wait at the top of hills. For this length of ride a mountain bike is not recommended as you may find you tire quicker with the heavier bike particularly as routes get hillier or with more frequent hillier sections. Road bikes or hybrids with road tyres are recommended for 30 miles and above. Please message me if you have any questions.

Want to increase your cycling capacity with a like-minded group? Can we build up from 30 miles to 40 miles - yes we can!

Most of the ride will be on quiet country lanes or quiet residential roads. There will be the occasional section on busier roads and there will be sections that are hillier but nothing that you can't do or walk up if necessary. Some of the ride can be on traffic-free sections, if specified.

We will have a café stop half-way. We will always stop at the top of hills to allow people to catch up and have a breather; no-one gets left behind. We always ride at the pace of the slowest rider.

Please always bring your helmet, pump, spare inner tube, repair kit, bike lock, phone and water bottle. You may wish to bring your Covid kit (mask / hand gel etc). Bring a card or cash for the cafe stop. Please check the weather before you come and bring appropriate clothing (e.g. rain jacket, gloves, hat if desired). It is always a good idea to know how you can change a puncture - there are Park Tool You Tube videos online. If you are dusting off your bike for the first time in a while, please ensure you check that your brakes are in working order, your tyres are pumped hard, your seat is at the right height etc. Please ask your local bike shop to check over your bike before you come along if you are not sure. There's a Sustrans M Bike video online that explains how to do this. Please check the conversation box below for any updates on your ride.
