Meet outside the cafe.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFOMRATION CAREFULLY
Castle and Park ride is a steady 8 miles on mainly cycle tracks but with a very small amount of road crossing.
More suited to ladies with fairly good balance on their bikes.
As we cycle we will learn to use our gears efficiently, enabling you to gain confidence in your cycling and handling of your bike.

The route will start from Sandal Castle Café (yes, you’ll be pleased to know there is now a café!) and will follow mainly cycle paths and tracks.
We will be riding a few very short road sections which we will ride together. Don’t worry if you are not confident about riding on the road these few short sections will be perfect for learning how to position yourself on the road.

We will make our way to Pugneys Country Park, doing a lap of the lake before exiting on a cycle path and making our way to Thornes Park. After a visit to the duck pond we do a lap of the park exiting and making our way back to Pugneys and on to Sandal Castle.

The rout is approximately 8 miles
This is not a race. The session will include lots of stopping and starting to get you used to changing gears. You will learn how to pedal proficiently creating a smoother more comfortable ride.
The session is ideal for ladies new to cycling, lacking in confidence or perhaps a little wobbly with their bike handling skills. It will be a very steady cycle. No one is left behind, we will all learn together.

If you book your place but then can not attend please cancel your place so others have the opportunity to join the ride.
Toilets are available at Pugneys and Thornes Park Athletic Stadium.

CYCLING HELMETS MUST BE WORN - You will not be permitted to take part in the session without a cycling helmet.
Please arrive by 10.45am to enable a register, bike check and safety briefing to take place.
Please ensure you are wearing suitable clothing for cycling. A full shoe such as trainers are recommended. NO flapping trouser legs which can get caught in the chain.
If you have any questions about this ride please don't hesitate to get in touch.
See you Thursday Ladies. Happy cycling Jo.
