Please read ALL the information carefully. If you are unsure about any of the details please ask.

Starting from Stanley Ferry Inn we ride along the canal towpath in the direction of Eastmoor. Crossing the bridge we loop round the South Washlands Nature Reserve with views of the new Hydroelectric Dam.
Exiting the Nature reserve we make our way up through South Washlands Woods using the bike ramp over the 'blue bridge'. We cycle up through the wood on the track is a great opportunity to get some gear changing practise in. It is an incline but don't let that put you off. We all cycle at our own pace and push if we need to.
At the top we turning right onto Kirkthorpe Lane cycling on the road for approx 0.5mile, we will all stay together. Following the road to Heath we take a right turn down a track adjacent to Kirkthorpe Lane which takes us to Doncaster Road where using the crossings we make our way across the road joining Oakenshaw Lane.
Oakenshaw Lane will be a road section of 0.5mile each way, after which we turn left into Walton Nature reserve. After completing a lap of the reserve we make our way back to Doncaster Road via Oakenshaw Lane where we will join the new Wakefield Relief Road on purpose build cycleways for 2 miles to the end of the Relief Road. We join Ferry Lane for a short 0.2mile section of road turning right back into Stanley Ferry Inn car park.

This ride is a steady ride. We all ride together and no one is left behind. As you can see there are some road section on this ride. They are short sections to get you used to cycling on roads. The Wakefield Relief Road will again get you used to being near a main road but with the plus of not having to actually cycle on it as the is a very wide purpose build cycle path which runs the whole length of the road.
The route is approximately 10 miles and is ridden at the slowest persons pace. If you would like to speak to me about this ride please don't hesitate to call on 07761302552 or contact me via the Let's Ride Message Board.
