This is a short ride that will be entirely on traffic-free cycleways - it is designed to be a good opportunity to try out a Beryl hire e-assist bike.
You will need to bring a smart phone - the required App can be downloaded in advance at https://beryl.cc
Bring your own cycle helmet or borrow from the Cycling Hub for a small donation.
After meeting at the Hub, we will use the Beryl App to unlock our bikes, adjusting saddle height to fit.
(If you have not used a Beryl bike before, you may then be able to access 30 free minutes which is around the length of the ride)
We will begin in the Fairlands Valley Park itself and then complete a 4 mile loop during which we will stop briefly to see how it is possible to pause a ride - stopping the payment but retaining a bike. On return to Fairlands we will familiarise with the docking process to end our rides.
Why are the bikes called Beryl bikes? Find out more about the famous woman behind their name at: https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/britains-greatest-cyclist-no-ones-heard
