This is a challenging ride for experienced cyclists, or those wishing to take the next step and extend their riding distance/pace, and is a great opportunity to have a go at something that might be a little faster or further than you may be used to.
The distance of this is 30 miles, with a stop at Popham Airfield at roughly 20 miles. We will be averaging around 13mph, so you need to be confident that you can maintain the pace over the distance and that you have a suitable road bicycle. There are undulations on this route but no major hills.
As always, ensure you have a roadworthy bike and don't forget to bring the following essentials: drink and snack; clothing appropriate for the weather; puncture repair kit; spare inner tube(s); pump or gas cartridge and payment card for the cafe stop. Should the weather forecast appear to be of concern, I will cancel the ride, so do ensure you have provided a mobile number on your booking so that I can send a text, which may not be until the Friday evening prior to the ride – cancellation is a last resort!
Additional Covid-safe measures:
Bring disposable gloves, face-covering (essential for the cafe stop) and hand gel. Do not attend if you feel unwell and remember to cancel your place in good time. Distancing measures are required in accordance with government guidelines.
