Malin Bridge Park and Ride Holme Lane Malin Bridge Sheffield S6 4JR

We're introducing this ride because it rewards our climbing efforts with some stunning views over Dale Dike and Strines reservoirs and is a new route for Breeze. Although you can do this ride on any bike, it is best done on a road bike or hybrid (the hills are harder work on mountain bikes). The ride starts with a steady climb up Loxley Road before passing the Nag's Head and to the left of Damflask Reservoir and through Low Bradfield. We then climb up a long steady hill along Blindside Lane. We wind our way up through the trees before emerging into more open countryside with spectacular views of the reservoirs and across the moors. We then have a flattish ride through the lanes around Ughill before dropping back down to Low Bradfield for coffee and cake at the Flask End cafe. Although there is some climbing in this ride, we’ll take it steady and stop for breathers whenever we need to. If you need to walk up any of the steeper bits, that is fine – we won’t leave anyone behind. Parking is available in Malin Bridge Park and Ride at a cost of £1. If arriving by car, please be aware that there is a height restriction barrier - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IN TO THE CAR PARK WITH BIKES ON A ROOF RACK! Some on street parking is available on Holme Lane if you cannot use the car park. If cycling into the car park, do not ride under the raised entry barrier (cycle around it) as it may descend and hit you.
