This is to use the fabulous new cycle superhighway and go thorough the centre of London on mainly safe and protected routes. We will see some fantastic views on this circular route, as well as spending some time by the river and eating lunch and having a comfort stop in Greenwich. We will meet and then cross over Westminster Bridge, and then take the superhighway all the way to the Tower of London. We will then cross over Tower Bridge, which is always breathtaking - this section will be on the road so we will be together as a group and highly visible, and then we will turn off onto quiet roads and enjoy some parks and surprising quiet cycle routes through Rotherhyde and into the back of Greenwich. Here we can have a comfort break, get food or tuck into snack and packed lunch before heading back on the new Quiet Way back to Waterloo. This route will surprise you by its very existence as many of the routes are new and facilitated by cut throughs. There are some cobbled bits on this route, which we can walk on or go slowly over, but do make sure your tyres are good and well pumped up before the ride. As I found earlier the cobbles are hard work on a folding bike!! Bring water and snacks as required. Greenwich does have a rather crowded market on a Friday - so you might prefer to treat yourself to a lunch which we can eat out by the river or at the park. Lots of vegan / veggie options. We can take turns watching the bikes so will not need lots of locks.
