Breeze to Silchester Farm

Please arrive with time to spare, we leave at 9:30am. Back around 1pm.

We are going to the Trough Farm Shop and Café at Silchester Farm.

Road and gravel bikes (tyres < 38mm) are ideal for this on-road ride.

A steady, friendly pace; cycling along tidily. Unrushed. Own pace on hills.

Looking out for each other. Re-grouping at junctions and on top of hills.

Helmets are compulsory

Bring enough water to last you until we get to the café.

When very warm, this will be at least 1 large (750ml) water bottle (cafe stop about halfway 12-15miles). Or 2 small (550ml) bottles…

…But 2 bottles (2 x750ml or 2 x 600ml) if the café is 18-20miles in.

An emergency snack eg a banana, a biscuit/JellyBabies. Add an emergency salty snack (eg crisps) if a very warm day.

YOUR BICYCLE

Kindly ensure that your bicycle is in good working condition - recently serviced, clean and oiled, no squeaks/rattling, tyres correctly inflated, brakes sharp.

Bring along a spare inner tube if you are running clinchers (“regular” tyres and not tubeless tyres).
